FOR THE SPIRIT: The Magic of Gratitude

FOR THE SPIRIT: The Magic of Gratitude

Ah, the Attitude of Gratitude... bullsh*t or life changing practice?

We've all experienced the spiral, the moment when things 'go from bad to worse'. In these moments, you have two choices. You can become consumed with everything that is going "wrong" or shift your focus to the abundance of things that are going right. What will make the difference is your default mindset.

Let's say, someone cuts you off while driving.

Is your first reaction to exact revenge? Curse them out? Call a friend to inform them of the indignation?!

OR

Do you shrug and say: Thank God we didn't get into a wreck! Thank God my car has reliable brakes! Thank God I was paying attention!

Gratitude is the simple act of acknowledging the good (blessings) in your life. Gratitude is the holy grail of attracting whatever you wish to enter into your life. According to the Law of Attraction, 'like attracts like'. You are either operating from a space of abundance or from a space of lack. When you keep your attention laser-focused on what you lack, you attract more of those things into your life experience. We've all met people who seem to have the worst luck but just one conversation with these souls will reveal how incredibly ungrateful they are. They are always the victims of life's circumstances and everything is someone's or something's fault. It's natural to feel disappointment, anger, and sadness from time to time but you can't stay there. With regular practice, you'll always be able to find something to be grateful for.

JUST IMAGINE:

Life without one of your five senses, a missing body part, or terminal illness.

Life without shelter, heat in the winter, or air conditioning in the sweltering heat.

Life without access to the internet, phones, or basic education.

Life in a war-torn country, life in enslavement, life without access to food and water.

Life without your loved ones.

Life without Amazon (!!)

We don't have to look far to see how incredibly fortunate we are. Be thankful, not only for your blessings but also for the obstacles as they are only guardrails to keep you on track. Even when things don't go the way you plan, trust that there is a reason. That reason could be the reason, you're still living and breathing today. Life is happening FOR you, not TO you.

Gratitude is the bridge that keeps us connected to God. It has the ability to quickly transmute low vibrational thoughts to more optimistic, productive thought patterns. These thoughts become our new set point and we begin to attract good things into our lives.

Exercise:

Write down 10 things you are thankful for. Expand on WHY you are thankful for them. Imagine life without those things. Now, truly immerse yourself in the feeling of gratitude. Complete this activity DAILY and watch your life change.
